Imagine Dubai Festival City
Doesn’t Dubai ever stop to catch its breath? With a belt of developments that haven’t shown up anywhere else in the world, Dubai has proudly let another cat out of the bag. The Imagine show at Dubai Festival City takes a visionary experience to a whole new level it brings out the childish dreams in every one of us!
This attraction managed to bag Dubai the Guinness World Records for the world’s biggest water screen projection. So let’s delve into the ‘What, Where and When’.
The Imagine Dubai Festival City is ideally named as it sparks the childlike imagination in every one of its spectators. This attraction is a whimsical projection of a story across a 360-degree panorama, including the Dubai Creek Waterfront.
The main element is water followed by light and fire. The scenes are projected onto water screens that are formed by the sprays off flowering fountains. Apart from 20 flowering fountains that spray at a 360-degree rotation, there are also two parabolic fountains, five flame effect units, a fireball effect unit and six water screens to name a few.
The show starts with the eyes of the ballerina which are created by RGB lights. This is followed by a ballet performance that tells a story. She gets stuck in a magical dark world which is projected onto the Dubai Festival City building’s façade. This is when bursts of fire emerge from the water to create the feeling of doom. The debut show was on 4th of May followed by a mesmerizing firework display.
This mind-boggling show takes place at Festival Bay in the Dubai festival city. The bay overlooks the Dubai creek which is a major contributor to the show.
There are daily shows, and they operate at any time of the year. Luckily, Dubai doesn’t experience freezing winters. There are three shows which are the Dancing Elements, the Star Dancer, and a Child’s Dream. The Dancing Elements show is played every half hour from 06:00 PM to 09:30 PM (06:00 PM, 06:30 PM, 07:00 PM, 07:30 PM, 08:00 PM and 09:30 PM) during weekdays. On weekends there are two additional shows at 10:30 PM and 11:30 PM. The Star Dancer and Child’s Dream have performances every hour on weekdays starting from 08:00 PM to 10:00 PM, whereas on weekends they have an additional show at 11.00 PM as well.
