The SMCCU is located in a magnificently refurbished wind tower house, a structure used by the Persian traders to bring in cool air. The wind towers also offer magnificent views of the patchwork of houses and villas spread around the building
You can take the metro to Al Bastakiya and get off at the Al Fahidi Metro Station. You will be transported back to the time when Dubai was a trade stop for Persian pearl and cloth traders. The ancient buildings are well maintained and have the power of making you feel warm and cozy.
The SMCCU’s main goal is promoting awareness of Emirate’s traditions, culture, the religion, and customs. With a variety of award-winning cultural programs to chose from, the organization welcomes people of any nationality or religion sticking true to its slogan ‘Open Doors, Open Minds’. This improves understanding between cultures and the communication between expatriates, locals, and visitors.
Your dinner will be served in Emirati style! Traditional floor cushions will be laid on carpets so that guests can sit cross-legged on the floor and enjoy the meal like a true Emirati. You will be served dates and Arabic coffee first. This will be followed by dinner serving a wide variety of authentic Emirati dishes ranging from rice to salads and everything in between. You will also get the chance to satisfy your sweet tooth with decadent Emirati desert.
